Since 2005, Steam Whistle has been including a custom-made bottle opener inside their 6 and 12 packs of bottles to kick-off the warm summer months. I produced product and concept renders for the 2014, 2015 and 2016 bottle openers which were either used for marketing materials or supplied to the manufacturing suppliers as reference for the final product.
2014 Bottle Opener
The design of this opener was already established when this project came my way. I was tasked with modelling and rendering high-res assets, based on a production prototype model. The goal was to use these assets for different marketing materials in lieu of having an expensive photoshoot with an object that is hard to photograph. Producing an accurate 3D model would allow for rendering out any angle.
2015 Bottle Opener
The marketing team was inspired by a vintage opener found at a garage sale which was used as a reference for size and overall shape. Detailed specifications were provided to the suppliers along with high-res renders.
